Xi’an Fire Alarm Company aims to provide fire protection products which are accurate, reliable, flexible, easy to be installed, tested, and maintained. JB-QG-16-AHG9630 Automatic Fire Alarm Linkage Controlling panel is a newly designed fire alarm system based on the requirements of GB 4717-2005 from Fire Alarm and GB 16806-2006 from Fire Protection linkage Controlling System . JB-QG-16-AHG9630 Fire Alarm  linkage Controlling System is an automatic, correlative, and all-in-one fire alarm controlling system.

1.1 System Components

JB-QG-16-AHG9630 Automatic Fire Alarm Linkage System consists of a Fire Alarm Linkage Controlling panel and onsite detecting units. Onsite detecting units are connected to the controlling panel with 2 bus as a ring type (or tree type) loop. The controlling panel manages the onsite detecting units via the intelligent loop card.

1.2 Key Performance Features

1) Capacity of each Controlling PanelJB-QG-16-AHG963016个环路。There are 16 loops in JB-QG-16-AHG9630 and each loop can hold as many detecting units but the total units under a controlling panel should be no more than 255.

2) loop Automatic IdentificationThe Controlling panel can automatically register and address the units in the loop. No manual or electronical coding required.

3) Loop Wiring TypeThe loop uses AHGBUS preference ring type wiring method but can also be compatible with tree type wiring method.

4) Loop Self-DiagnosisUnder ring type wiring, when there is open circuit, the system will report the malfunction address; when there is short circuit, the system can isolate the short-circuit from the bus loop with the isolator, so that other normal circuits can work as usual.

5) Power Supply at both ends of the loopUnder ring type wiring, two-ends power supply enables the normal units to work as usual when short circuit or open circuit happens to one unit.

6) Categorized Alarm WindowsThe messages can appear in different windows and be categorized as fire alarm, supervision, feedback, startup, fault, events,  disablement., etc. The system can show up to 10 000 messages.

7) History RecordThe system has black box function which can store up to 10,000 latest alarms and up to 10 000 other messages.

8) Automatic LinkageThe system offers various options for linkage which could be programmed at the user’s will to achieve automatic linkage among fire prevention devices.

9) Unit DisablementFor the false units onsite, disablement can be done using the software equipped in the controlling panel. Once the problem is resolved, disablement can be cancelled, and the units will be reconnected.

Users Manual

This chapter is about how to use JB-QG-16-AHG9630 Automatic Fire Alarm Linkage Controlling panel.

Wiring, installation and operation must be performed by a licensed  or authorized technician and installation of this unit must conform to the electrical codes in your area and fire protection regulations.

2.1 Controlling System Function Layout

B-QG-16-AHG9630 Automatic Fire Alarm Linkage Controlling System is installed as cabinet type. The numbers of loop cards, bus controlling panels, direct controlling panel and linkage power should be adjusted based on the project.

Fire Alarm

Steady Red Indicator At least one unit or spot has intrigued fire alarm directly or indirectly. Always reset this indicator once the danger is cleared.

 Start

Flashing Red Indicator No feedback within 10 second when the controlling system sends start commands to the attached devices. When feedback signals are normal and indicator will be Steady Red Indicator → Feedback is normal or no feedback is required when the controlling system sends start commands to the attached devices

 Fault

Steady Yellow Indicator The controlling system has identified fault in the bus units or the controlling system. Once the fault is cleared, please press resetto turn off the light.

Supervision

Steady Red Indicator →  The controlling system receives input signals from external supervising devices other than this fire alarm system. The indicator will be off once the external signals are cleared.

Feedback

红色指示灯常亮Steady Red Indicator The controlling system receives action feedback signals from devices connected to it. The indicator will be off once the fire protection devices linkage action resumes.

Disablement

Steady Yellow Indicator Some units on bus loop have been disabled. If some detectors, manual fire alarms or modules are faulty, please shut them off in case they affect the whole fire alarm system. Once disablement is cancelled, the light will be off.

In time of fire, the light and strobe alarm will not work as normal if they are disabled.

Any bus unit will stop working completely if disabled; but will not affect the functions of other bus units.

Silence Indicator

Steady Green Indicator Fire alarm is mute.

Steady Yellow Indicator Fire alarm is not mute

Auto Permit/Prohibit

Steady Green Indicator The controlling system is automatically linked

Green Indicator Off The controlling system is not automatically linked

System Operation/Fault

Steady Green Indicator The Fire Alarm Controlling System is in working good condition.

Steady Yellow Indicator The Fire Alarm Controlling System is faulty, and system fails to work.

No fire alarm signals will be sent when the fire alarm controlling system is broken.

Steady Green Indicator The standby battery (storage battery) is in good working condition.

Steady Yellow Indicator The standby battery (storage battery) is not in good working condition.

Main Power Works/Faulty

Steady Green Indicator The main power supply (AC Power) is in good working condition.

If the main or standby power fault cant be cleared, please contact the installation technician.

2.2.1 Key Board

Reset Key

Press this key All loops, direct controlling panels, bus panels under this controlling system will be reset; all fire alarm signals. Module feedback signals and other fire alarm signals will be deleted and the system will return to normal working condition.

Auto Permit/Prohibit Shift Key

Press this key The linkage operation can be shifted between Auto Permit and Auto Prohibit, meanwhile the corresponding indicators will be lit up.

Manual Permit/Prohibit Shift Key

ress this key The direct controlling panels and bus panel can be shifted between Manual Permit and Manual Prohibit and the corresponding indicators will be lit up.

Silence Key

Menu/Return Key

Press this key The menu will pop up or return.

Press this key Different controls could be shifted

Delete Key

Press this key A char before the cursor will be deleted in the addressing interface on the display panel of a fire alarm controlling system.

Self-Check Key

Press this key The fire alarm controlling panel will automatically check the functions of all the indicators, sounders, and liquid crystal display.

2.3 Operation of the Controlling system

2-5 The Main Interface

The users can operate the controlling system when the system is turned on and the system supervision Interface pops up. Please always test the system before turning on the power.

There are 7 parts in the main controlling interface:

Initial Fire Alarm Display BarDisplays the initial Fire Alarm; there will be no information if no alarm is intrigued. Shows the status of the sounder and strobe such as start, fault and Disablement.

Controlling Panels Number Display Bar:Displays the current controlling panel numbers.

Fire Alarm Supervision Display Bar:Displays the messages in relation to fire alarm and supervision. Max 6 rows will be displayed on each page.

Information Display Bar:Displays messages such as start, feedback, fault and events. Max 6 rows will be displayed at each page.

Time Display BarDisplay the current time.

2.3.1 View the Message Bar

Fire Alarm Supervision Display Bar and Message Display Bar can be shifted by using “Tab” key. Once selected, the color of the bar frame will be changed into blue. Under the interface of fire alarm supervision display, the “       ” key can be used to shift between fire alarm and supervision messages; Under the message display, the “” key can help to shift between start, feedback, fault, disablement and events. If there is no message for one of them, the system will skip and go to the next type of messages. Page by page reading can be achieved by using up   and down   key.

Each message usually contains

①Serial numbersequence of the message

Description of the message type:The description includes fire alarm, start, communicating fault, etc.

Unit Address:This is the address where the message is sent. C-controlling system; L-loop; D-direct controlling panels; B-bus panels; A- address

Type of the unit:the type of unit where the message is sent.

Unit Description:the description of the unit where the message is sent

TimeTime when the message is created.

2.3.2 Menu

Menu will pop up after the password is correctly entered and the menu item details are accessible by pressing the number related to the menu items.

2.3.3 Self-Check

The fire alarm controlling panel will automatically check the functions of all the indicators, sounders, and liquid crystal display.

2.3.4 Reset

When all the numbers are 0, it means system resetting”, then all the controlling systems will be reset; when the number of the controlling system is not 0, but the numbers of the loop and address are 0, it means “controlling system resetting” and then the related controlling system will be reset; if the numbers of the controlling system and loop are not 0 but that of the address is 0, the related loop will be reset; if all the numbers are not 0, only the corresponding units will be reset.

2.3.5 Loop Specifications

These are about the specifications of all the loops, direct Controlling panels, bus controlling panels and linkage relationships.

2.3.5.1 View Loop Specifications

The specific loops can be selected from the drop-down menu; the cursor can be moved to “status”, “input status” and “output status”, by using the “left”, “right”, “up” or “down” key. Click “enter”, the status will be shifted.

2.3.5.2 View the Direct Controlling panels’ Status

The specific direct controlling panels can be selected from the drop-down menu; the cursor can be moved to “status”, “input status” and “output status”, by using the “left”, “right”, “up” or “down” key. Click “enter”, the status will be shifted.

2.3.5.3 View the Bus Plates Information

The specific bus plates can be selected from the drop-down menu; by using the “up” or “down” key, a specific bus panel switch can be selected, meanwhile the units related to the selected switch will show up in the column on the right. If the “enter” key is pressed, the status of the selected switch will be changed. When “right” key is pressed, the cursor will be moved to the right column to view the details; When the “left” key is pressed, the cursor will be moved back to the switch list on the left.

2.3.5.4 View the Linkage Relationship

Using the “up” and “down” key, the cursor will be moved up and down to select the controlling numbers, and the corresponding linkage relation of the selected controlling number will appear in the column on the right, and the logical relationship of the linkages will appear on the top right corner. When “right” key is pressed, the cursor will be moved to the right column to view the details; When the “left” key is pressed, the cursor will be moved back to the left column of controlling numbers.

Under the controlling numbers, there are special linkage details.

2.3.5.5 Sound and Strobe Disablement

The Sounder and Strobe Fire Alarm will be disabled and all the indicators are lit up in the light and strobe status display bar of the Sound and strobe Fire Alarm, when “Sound and Light Disablement” is selected.

2.3.5.6 Save

In this controlling system panel, all changes must be saved by clicking “save” Key.

When the bus units or bus loops are disabled, the controlling system will not respond to the alarms or fault of these units or bus loops.

The disablement function is designed to improve the reliability of the system especially during installation and maintenance. During installation or in other disturbing environments,  some bus units may report false alarm or even intrigue alarms in the linking devices, as such, the affected bus units should be temporarily disabled. When onsite situation becomes normally, the disablement can be cancelled and the system linkage responses will resume.

2.3.6 Simulation Testing

Simply by entering the loops numbers and addresses, the system can carry out simulation fire alarm testing to heat detectors, smoke detectors, heat and smoke detectors, and manual fire alarm buttons; also by entering the loop numbers and addresses, the system can launch an initiating testing to Input and Output Module and sound and strobe fire alarms; similarly the system can do a point-to-point reset to all the units and check the current status of all the units.

2.3.7 History Record

The history records can include 10 000 fire alarm messages, and 10 000 other messages. Each page can display max 10 rows of messages. Page by page checking can be achieved by using the “up” and “down” key. The sorting menu will pop up if “enter” key is pressed. The messages can be sorted by time and type of messages.

2.3.8 Connecting Devices

The upper part is to set up the connection of loops, direct controlling panels and bus panels. Automatic search can scan all the connected loops, direct controlling panels and bus panels. The setting will take effect once “save” is pressed.

The middle part is to set up the numbers of the controlling system, which will take effect when “save” is pressed. The controlling panel numbers  in the same linkage network must be unique and the main controlling panel must be named as “1”.

The lower part contains the controlling system numbers in the network which can be set up in the main controlling panel only. To set up the controlling panel numbers, please enter a number, press “enter” and then allocate another number, until all controlling systems have their own numbers. Automatic search function can scan all the controlling panels in the network. “Enter” must be pressed when all work is done.

2.3.9 Print Setting

In print setting, the type of events is Fire Alarm and Start as default.

2.3.10 Time Setting

There are three parts in this menu:

2000-01-01 00:00:00~2099-12-31 23:59:59.The upper part is to set up the time. The time range is between 2000-01-01 00:00:00 and 2099-12-31 23:59:59.

The middle part is to set up the background light time. When there is fire alarm, the background light keeps steady, that means the screen will never be turned off.

The lower part is to set up the shifting time of the sound/strobe and broadcast.

2.3.11 Pin Setting

9. The initial pin is “9” which can be changed.

Please keep the pin properly as you are not able to monitor the controlling system without it.

If you forget the pin, please contact the installation technician.

Testing Instructions

JB-QB-4-AHG9620JB-QG-16-AHG9620 This Chapter is about how to test JB-QB-4-AHG9620 and JB-QG-16-AHG9620 Fire Alarm linkage Controlling systems, after the installation is complete.

Attention: Before proceeding, please ensure the installation follows the official fire protection standards and the cable connection is correct.

Attention: To prevent from inappropriate operation, the testing can only be carried out via computer.

The testing can be carried out only by the licensed or authorized technicians, and follows the fire protection workplace safety regulation.


3.1 Software

The software is installation free and is compatible with Windows application platform supported by at least Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. The computer is connected to the controlling systems with RS48 serial communication port.

3.2 Serial Ports Setting

The software uses COM1 to connect the system by default. If COM1 exists, then the software will automatically connect to COM1 after starting; if COM1 does not exist, there will be prompt. Then the serial port can be clicked to set up.

3.3 拓扑识别Topology Identification

The function of topology identification means this system can automatically scan the connected loop units and automatically identify the framework of the connection between units.

The function of topology identification will start once the specific controlling system number and loop number have been entered. Please do not switch off the system during topology identification.

3.3.1 Power-Fail Resetting

During topology identification, the system will do a power-fail resetting first to all the loops.

3.3.2 Unit Identification

The software will automatically search the connected units and show them in the left column. 120 seconds after the last unit is found, the next step will start (you can also click on “next step” to go to the next step). Please make sure the found units and the installed units are identical before the next step starts. Otherwise the topology identification will fail.

If the numbers of the found units are not the same as the installed units, please check the connection, and then run topology identification again.

If the same serial numbers appear, the related united will be highlighted in grey and the system will not proceed to the next step.

3.3.3 Options for Addressing Modes

There are two modes: Manual addressing and auto addressing

(1). Automatic AddressingWhen the loop connection is tree shape, the system will automatically create the topology addresses,  and read the addresses; when the loop connection is ring shape, the system will do the same and automatically write the addresses into the units, and record all the units in the loop and their topology structures.

(2). Manual AddressingAddresses can be entered into the address bar manually. If all addresses will be entered manually, the address number will start with “1” and increases by one with no skip, no repetition or no exclusive of any unit. In this case the system will write the address into the units and record all the units in the loop when “next step” is clicked.

If only a few addresses need to be changed manually, then only the new addresses for these units should be manually entered. Once done, click “next step”, and the system will write addresses into these units. In this case the system is not able to save all the units in the loop.

3.3.4 Whether Keeps the Data in the Previous Loop

Once the addressing is done, the new units in the loop are saved automatically. Then a dialog box will pop up asking if you wish to save the previous loop data into the new loop data, such as area numbers, and controlling systems numbers.

Topology Identification Trouble Shooting

If the topology identification does not work due to the cabling issues (caused by environment in the site or aging), please see the following

The failure of topology identification or the discrepancy of the identification results are normally caused by the cabling issues.

The cabling issues includes: connection mistakes such as wrong polarity in the connection, failure to screw the detectors to the bases tightly, weak connection between he detectors and the base due to deformed reed.

If the loop units numbers are correct but the right structure can’t be confirmed, it is often related to the loop cabling and installation, for example, the aging of the reed and the cables may increase the electric resistance on the unit, which in turn will affect the communication results. If there are too many mistakes in topology identification data, the system is not able to complete the identification, or errors occur to the system, complete manual addressing will be used.

3.4 Parameter Programming

Once topology identification is completed, the data can be viewed and edited in the parameter programing.

3.4.1 Edit Data in Loops and Direct Controlling Panels

Editing data in loops and direct controlling panels can be found at the upper right side of the parameter programming interface. Click the editing function and select a loop and a direct controlling panel by their numbers.

The data in grey can’t be edited. Take the Input Output Module for example:

The first column is about the addresses.

The second column is about the status, including three status: connected, disconnected and disabled. If the units are normal, the status is set up as “connected”; if the unit is not connected, the status is “disconnected”; if for some reason the unit should be disabled, then the status will be set up as” disabled”.

The third column is about the type of units.

The fourth column is about the serial numbers.

The fifth column is about the input status, including connected, disconnected , disabled and malfunction disabled. If the input is correct, then it will be set up as “connected” ; if the input is not connected to signals, the status will be “ disconnected”; if the input needs to be disabled due to some uncleared malfunction, then the status will be set up as “disabled”; if the malfunction needs to be disabled as it can’t be cleared, then the status will be set up as “malfunction disabled”.

The sixth column is about the input type, including fire alarm, start, feedback, supervision, fault, and event. This can be set up accordingly. Please note, if the type is set up as “feedback”, the feedback is about the output of this unit.

The seventh and eight column are area numbers, ranging from 1 to 9999, and each area can hold 1 to 32 places. Area numbers are unique so no repetition is allowed.

The ninth column is about the description. This is to describe the content of the input. At most 8 C。The tenth column is about the output status, similar as the input status.

The eleventh column is the output type, including “start” and “event”.

The twelfth column is about the controlling numbers, ranging from 1 to 9999. No repetition is allowed.

The thirteenth column is description about the output. At most 8 Chinese characters or 16 English letters are allowed.

The fourteenth column is about the description of installation locations for corresponding units. At most 8 Chinese characters or 16 English letters are allowed.

The fifteenth column is about the display panels, ranging from 1 to 127.It indicates the panels where the fire alarm information of a specific unit will be displayed.

The sixteenth column is about the main loop/subloop

3.4.2 Loop Diagram

bmp、jpg、png The topology structure of the loop can be viewed by clicking “ view loop structure” button, and the diagram can be saved as bmp,jpg,png, etc file.

3.4.3 Add and Delete a Unit

A unit can be added at the end of the loop when “add a unit” button is clicked. The unit can be of any type and any serial numbers. A loop can hold at most 255 units. The added units will not show up in the loop structure diagram.

The unit at the end of the loop will be deleted when “delete the last unit” button is clicked. Any unit which is not the last in the loop can’t be deleted straight away. If any unit, which is not the first or last, is not connected, the status should be set up as “disconnected”. If the last unit is the topology identified unit, the deletion will destroy the loop structure and the structure diagram will not be displayed due to the deletion. And this action is irreversible!

3.4.4 Edit the Controlling Numbers

In the loop and direct controlling panel numbers window, a new controlling number which does not previously exist can be added automatically when entered; If manual addition is necessary, then please go to the bottom line and click the “ ” button to add a controlling number; for deleting a controlling number, please just click on ”; please use “”和“” to adjust the sequence.

In this window, there are 6 columns. The first column are the controlling numbers which can be amended directly. The numbers range from 1 to 9999. If a controlling number exists, the corresponding units/ direct controlling panels’ addresses and output description will be listed in third, fourth, fifth and sixth columns. If the output description is void, the installation address will be listed. If the controlling number does not exist, the number is a virtual controlling number, which is created as an interim number to achieve complicated linkage relationship programming. The controlling numbers in the first column can duplicate. The relationship between the two repeated numbers is “or”.

The second column is for numbers of activated items which shows the numbers of linkage relationships in the controlling number.

3.4.5 Edit Linkage Relationship

When any controlling number is selected, all its relationships in the loop will be displayed.

Controlling number: display the current controlling number you have selected.

Linkage Relationship Editing: Edit the linkage relationships

Linkage Relationship: describe the relationship of the linkage

Operation area

Logic relationship editing: Edit the logic relationships of all the linkages

In Linkage Relationship Editing part, there are two options: area address linkage and controlling number linkage

1)area linkage (any address linkage in the area will be regarded as the linkage of this area)如图if only one area is entered, it is called area linkage, please see the diagram:

2)Cross- Area Linkage:If only two areas are entered, it is called cross-area linkage, please see the diagram below:

3)Address Linkage:If only one address in entered, it is call address linkage, please see the diagram below:

4)Cross-Address Linkage:When two addressed are entered, it is called cross-address linkage.如图 please see the diagram below:

5)Controlling Number Linkage:When one controlling number is entered, it is call controlling number linkage

6)Cross-controlling number linkageWhen two controlling numbers are entered, it is called cross-controlling numbers linkage. Please see the diagram below

In the linkage relationship editing window, the linkage relationship can be added by clicking “ ; the selected linkage relationship can be edited when “amend the selected item” is clicked. ” can be used to delete a linkage relationship and “”, “”and” can be used to adjust the sequence.

3.4.6 Special Linkage Relationship

Click on “special Linkage Relationship” Button, the special linkage window will pop up. Here, the special linkage relationship can be edited, such as, pressing any fire alarm or sound and strobe button will intrigue all the sound and strobe fire alarms in certain loops.

3.4.7 Edit the Bus Panel

The bus panel number can be selected from the drop-down menu at the top left corner of this window.

Each bus panel contains 32 switches which can be viewed on the left of the table. The first column is the switch numbers and the second column is the total number of the units which are related to the switches. Tick in the third column means the switch is initiated, otherwise the switches do not work.

The units related to the switches can be viewed in the table on the right of the window: the first column is the loop number; the second column is the address and the tick in the third column means this unit receives feedback signals. The box in this column can’t be ticked if the output input module is not set up as feedback, otherwise, there will be fault.

A unit can be added by clicking “ ”; a unit can be deleted by clicking ”; the sequence can be adjusted by clicking ”, “”and”.

3.4.8 Data Verification

By clicking the “data verification” button, the system automatically checks if the data entry is correct and the results show up in the text box in the operation area. The verification includes the following:

1If the area address codes are complete

2If there are duplicate area address codes

3If there are duplicate controlling numbers

4If there are void items in the linkage relationship

5If the linkage relationship includes the controlling number itself. For example, the linkage relationship of controlling number 2 is: from controlling number 1 to controlling number 3. This linkage relationship includes controlling number 2.

6If the addresses of units connected in the bus switches are complete.

7)If the corresponding units do not exist but are connected in the bus switch network.

8)If the corresponding units connected in the bus switches has no output

9If the corresponding units  connected in the bus switches require feedback but the input is not feedback.

10If there are duplicate units connected in the same bus switch

3.4.9 Open the Saved Data

The edited data can be saved as “controlling system data*.fac”or Excel doc *.xls, by clicking “save controlling system data” button. Please note, excel document can’t be imported. By clicking “Open controlling system data”, the saved controlling system data can be opened.

3.4.10 Import and Export the Controlling System Data

In the controlling system area, the data in the controlling system can be written into the software by filling out the controlling system number and clicking on “read data in the controlling system”. The current data can be written into the controlling system when “Write data into the controlling system” is clicked. Please note, only correct data can be written into the controlling system.

3.4.11 Amend Data in Batch

By clicking the “amend data in batch” button, the data can be changed in group. There are 5 options: loops, direct controlling panels, bus panels, linkage relationship, import from documents and replace units by force. Once the editing is done, the batch change must be saved by clicking “change”.

3.4.11.1 环路、直控盘 Loop and Direct Controlling Panel

1)The column on the left contains the selection criteria. The relationship between the criteria is “and”, that means, more than one criterion can be selected. After the units that meet these criteria are selected, the content in the right column can be edited to make changes to the data.

The first item in the right column is “type”. This change only works for a unit which is added manually.

The fifth item is area address number setup. after the capacity reaches 32, the number will increase by one automatically. If an area address number needs to be deleted, the address number can be set up as: area address number is “0” and number then increases from “0” by “0”.

The ninth item is to set up the controlling number. It is the same as to set up the area address number.

The last item is to delete the data. This will initialize selected units, clear its area addresses, controlling numbers, installation locations or other manually entered data.

3.4.11.2 Bus Panel

1)The selecting criteria are in the column on the left. When the boxes are ticked, the units which meet the criteria will be added to a specific switch in a certain bus panel.

2Bus Panel Setting:In the second option “linkage feedback”, if “self-Check” is selected, in the input output module, the system will set up the units with feedback input as feedback and others as non-feedback.

3Swap the data in different bus switches.

3.4.11.3 Linkage Relationship

1)The column on the left indicates in which controlling numbers the data needs to be changed and the column on the right shows what changes need to be operated. “Add” and “delete” must be specified in the small box inside the right column. Once done, “change selected item” must be clicked to save the change.

When the document is selected, tick what data is to be imported from this document.

3.4.11.4 Force Replacement of Units

Warning: 1.This function can only be performed by technicians.2. As a special function, batch replacement is not available. If large number of units need to be replaced, please use topology identification.

When a few units are replaced, the types and serial number of the units can be changed using this function.

3.5 History Record

This can be done by putting in the controlling number, clicking on “export history record” and then clicking on “save as” to save the record in your computer. Please click on “Open history record doc” to open the exported history record. The history record can be viewed in the box on the left either as spreadsheet or text. The history record can also be sorted before saving as spreadsheet or text.

3.6 Set up Time

To set up time for all linked controlling systems, the controlling number should be put in as “0”. Click on “set up”, any time can be set up. By clicking on “Sync with the computer”, the time in the computer will be synced into the controlling system.

3.7 Loop Testing

The system can acquire electric pressure at the two ends of loop.

Light up Unit Indicators” function can light up the indicator of a specific unit or of all the units. This can help to check if any detector is uncommunicable. Attention: This function may start the fire alarm.


Chapter 4 Frequent Fault Troubleshooting Guide

4.1 Fire Alarm Controlling System Fault Troubleshooting Guide

Here are some frequent troubles and solutions:

1) Main Power UndervoltageCheck if the power is off or disconnected

2) Standby Battery UndervoltageCheck if the connection to the standby power is loose; if not loose, it might be because of  the low battery. Once standby battery is fully charged, the fault will be cleared.

3) Controlling System Communication FaultCheck if the Controlling System One exists or if the controlling system numbers duplicate or if the network setting is correct. If these are all good, then please check if the communication cable is loose.

4) Short or Open Circuit for Sounder or StrobeCheck if there are short circuit or open circuit to the output terminals.

5) Power Communicating Fault Check if the power board connection is tight or not.

6) Panel communicating FaultContact the technician who installed the system

7) The loop fails to go to the supervision statusthe communicating indicator of the loop cards does not flash):Check if the loop is set up as connected and if there are data in this loop.

8) Bus panel key failCheck the status of manual permit indicator; check if the bus panel has been set up as “ connected”; check if the keys are started; check if the leys are  linked to the units and if at least one unit is in the status of “ connected”.

9) Direct Controlling Panel Keys Fail Check the status of manual permit indicator; check if the direct controlling panel has been set up as “ connected”; and if the keys are set up as “connected”.

10) Broken Circuit at InputCheck if the unit input cable is broken.

11) Short Circuit at OutputCheck if the unit output circuit is short.

12) Circuit Broken in output Module; Power Fails to Sound and StrobeCheck if the power support output 24V is correct.

13) Unit Communicating FaultCheck if the unit is connected well.

14) Short Circuit or Open Circuit to Loops Check if short or open circuit takes place to the loops.

15) Loop Communicating FaultSwitch off the power and check if the loop cards are properly inserted. If the system can’t resume, please replace the loop card and try again.

16) Communicating Fault in Bus Panel, Direct Controlling PanelCheck if there are loose connections in bus and direct controlling panelS .

17) Communicating Fault in Level DisplayCheck if the 24 V power output is correct; if the cables are good; if the setting of the level display is correct or if the level display works properly.

18) Red Indicator for TimePlease replace the button battery in the cardinal plate and reset the time.

19) Time Display reading “unable to set up time”Please reset the time or restart the system. If it does not work, please contact the technician who installed the system.

20) Data Corrupted: Please import the data again.

21) Unable to StartPlease check if the core plate is connected well.

4.2 Troubleshooting Guide for Testing Software Fault

Here are some frequent troubles and solutions:

1)Upon starting, the system reads “ application program routine initialization fail”Microsoft .NET FrameworkThis means the computer is not installed with Microsoft .NET Framework. Please install Microsoft .NET Framework and try again.

2)The software is quitted due to halted program or power outage The software will automatically save the current data every 10 seconds. Upon starting after accidental quitting, the system will check and ask if you want to resume the data prior to the accidental quitting.
