INSTALLATION
AND MAINTENANCE INTRODUCTIONS

Model MK-1/1-AHG2030

Input/output module

Please read these
introductions carefully before the installation so as to use the module
properly.

The MK-1/1-AHG2030 input/output module (input/output module for short in the followings) is designed for the AHG9600 fire alarm controller. It is used to receive one group of standard signal input and one group of dry contact signal output and occupies one address of the AHG bus.

First: Features

ü Distributed intelligence, and it has quasi-16 microprocessor and internal data storagebuilt-in.

ü Digital signal working mode and superior anti-electromagnetic interference capability.

ü Unique bar code for identification with no coding switches and manual settings such as electronic addressing required.

ü Making an automatic test on its operation through its perfect self-diagnostic function.

ü The relay of the input/output module can be programmed at will by the controlling host computer, and it can also have a laptop off-line programming set.

ü Theinput/output module can be connected with various passive switch input signals.

ü Lamplight indicates on the panel when there is an input signal.

ü Could provide one group of programmable relay output.

ü The input/output module has three relay output modes. (Level, pulse and delay)

ü Lamplight indicates on the panel when there is an output signal.

ü The short or open circuit signal between the input/output module can be reported to the controller.

Third: Structure character and working
principle:

1. The input/output module's appearance is showed in the following picture:


2.Working principle:

The input/output module is used in the AHG9600 fire alarm system, only occupying one address of the AHG bus. The standard input can be the return signals from the switches of equipment acting or can receive alarming input signals of the standard input equipment. It will report the return signals of the switches of equipment acting, the alarming input signals and the local address to the AHG9600 fire alarm controller. The short or open circuit signal between the
input/output module can be reported to the controller.

Forth: Installation and wiring

Warning: Cut off the power supply before
installing the input/output module.

Notice: The preset line must be longer than
or equals to 15cm.

1.Installation:

a. As a component of the AHG9600 control panel (linkage type), the input/output module can be installed on the wall at a distance of around 1.5m high from the local ground or on the pendent ceiling directly. Usually, it is installed near the linkage equipment to make the wiring easy.

b. First check whether the crust is intact and whether the accessories and the marks are all ready or not.

c. Put the self-tapping bolt of the accessories through the fixed hole on the box of the input/output module to fix its bottom crust first. d. After the connection on the top crust, fix the crusts of two sides together with the self-tapping bolt, then the installation is finished.

2. Terminal wiring diagram:














a. It is appropriate to use the AVS twisted-pair whose cross-sectional area is greater than or equals to 1.0 mm2,
laying through mental pipe or fire-retardant pipe. Suggest connecting using shield threads under such environment as strong electromagnetic interferences.

b. The total resistance of the bus loop wire should be less than 50Ω, and the total capacitance should be smaller than 0.3μF. The length of the loop wire is shorter than 1500m for fan-in andshorter than 2000m for fan-out.

Fifth. Testing


Warning: Don't
put the power through before installations of all units are finished.


1. The input/output module must be tested after the installation and the regular maintenance.

2. Before the test, the relevant managing department must be informed that the system is going to have
maintenance and there may be a temporary cessation of work as a result. Cut off the logical control function of the area or system at the same time so as to avoid unnecessary alarm linkage.

3. Testing content:

Topology recognition: After affirming the validity of the installation and the wiring, recognize thinput/output module automatically through the controller connected, and check the number of modules installed according to the design drawings.

Input alarm and output action:

When the topology recognition is done, choose one input/output module on the controller to write the interactive relationship between input and output, testing the input alarming and the output relay acting.

4. Inform the relevant managing department that the system is back to normal again when the test is over.

5. During the test, deal with the unqualified modules according to the "Common faults and maintenance" and
"Maintenance", and then give them a second test. If they are not satisfied still, return them back to the factory for maintenance.

Sixth. Use and operation

Built-in bar code before leaving factory to greatly lower the constructing difficulty and shorten the project time needed due to none manual coding. Do the following operations as the installation is finished:

1. Topology recognition: There comes a topological recognition command from the controller to read the address of the input/output module automatically so as to certain the loop structure.

2. Input alarm and linkage: When the topology recognition is done, choose one arbitrary input/output module on the controller to write the interactive relationship between input and output, testing the input alarming and the output relay acting.

Seventh. Common malfunction and maintenance

When there is a fault, make a check that whether the outer connecting is right, and if it is, then observe the circuitry board to find such abnormal phenomena as false weld, burn and so on.

The possible faults and their maintenance approaches are concluded as following:

1. Cannot catch the host computer: Check whether the connection between the module and the host computer is reliable.

2. The relay cannot pull: Check weather the relay was false welded or damaged.

Warning: If the
module cannot work normally after the maintenance above, return them back,please.
Eighth. Maintenance

1. The input/output module must be installed just before it is going to have a debug, and it must be kept properly with corresponding dust, moisture, andanti-corrosion measures before the installation.

2.Maintain the input/output module more than two times a year to make sure the system run normally.

3. Take a mock alarm and linkage every six months to test the input/output module.

4. Before the test, the relevant managing department must be informed that the system is going to have maintenance and so there may be a temporary cessation of work as a result. Cut off the logical control function of the area or system at the same time so as to avoid unnecessary alarm linkage.
